Renewable energy sources have served humanity for thousands of years. Shipping would have been unthinkable without the wind, the sun's drying power ensured the durability of crops, and water facilitated the workflow of workshops producing a wide variety of goods. But the technological shift that came with the industrial revolution temporarily eclipsed the systems powered by natural processes in many parts of the world. Today, renewable energy sources are once again coming to the fore: wind and solar energy are the two most dynamic areas, but there are also significant and tangible developments in other solutions (hydro, geothermal, bioenergy). Today, it is of paramount importance to understand the potential of this field, but also the challenges involved. Renewable energy systems are the key to our future, and resource management is a priority.
We recommend the performance for pupils in the 7th and 8th grades of primary school and for secondary school students.
