There was nothing left at the crime scene except a few bloodstains. Based on the CCTV footage and eyewitness testimonies, several suspects have emerged. Which one is the perpetrator? We will find out in this lab exercise: using restriction enzymes, we will create unique DNA fingerprints from the samples collected by the crime scene investigators, and then analyse them using gel electrophoresis. Simultaneously, we will test some of the new tasks from the biology matriculation exam in practice.
