Pannon Competency Passport

Dear First-Year Student!

Entering higher education marks the beginning of an exciting yet challenging new phase of life. In today's rapidly changing world, it is no longer enough „just” to get into university and earn a degree: those who will be truly successful are those who, beyond professional knowledge, precisely know their own strengths, consciously develop themselves, and are able to adapt flexibly to new tasks.. As students arriving at university have diverse backgrounds, skills and study habits, many face overload, uncertainty or a loss of motivation as early as the first few semesters. The University of Pannonia aims to support your development right from the very beginning of your studies, helping you to build on your own strengths and progress in line with your individual life path and career goals..

The Pannon Competence Passport System

The basis of this support is Pannon Competency Passport, which is an innovative, complex, digital student lifecycle support system that helps you from the very moment you arrive at the university and accompanies you throughout your entire university career. The system does not measure a single momentary state, but instead becomes a long-term development portfolio that makes your acquired competencies, completed training courses and consciously built strengths visible. This mindset will also give you a significant advantage in future job interviews and on the job market, as, alongside a degree, employers specifically look for young people who are able to think critically, collaborate and develop continuously..

The Input Competency Assessment and Its Details

The first, essential step of the programme is the input competency assessment. This comprehensive assessment provides a picture of your thinking and problem-solving skills, your learning and attentional functioning, your motivation and self-regulation, as well as your personality traits related to your career orientation..

  • Obligation: Carrying out the measurement compulsory for all first-year undergraduate (BA) students, and a Learning, self-awareness and socialisation training or the Study methodology mandatory component of course fulfilment.
  • Where and when is it available? The measurement is available on the university Moodle interface (Moodle – Competence Assessment).
  • Completion period: 1 September 2026 – 5 October 2026.
  • Time required: Carrying out the tests will take a total of approx. 2.5 to 3 hours it takes time, but you don't need to fill it in all at once; it can easily be completed in several sessions.

Not an Exam, but an Opportunity

It is of paramount importance to emphasise that the competency assessment not an exam and not a testthere are no „good” or „bad” results, the goal is feedback and support. Your results during the autumn semester on the Moodle platform Only you can see this – your tutors and fellow students cannot access it. The University handles the data exclusively in an aggregated form and uses it for curriculum development, mentoring and support purposes..

Personalised Development Paths

Based on your results, using algorithms and specialists, we will recommend personalised development opportunities to you during your study semesters:

  • If the assessment shows that procrastination or organising your studying is difficult, we will help you overcome these with targeted development.
  • If your creativity or problem-solving skills are outstanding, we support your development with programmes based on these.
  • You can make use of career credit training courses, self-awareness and motivational programmes, career orientation and individual counselling, mentoring opportunities, as well as personal consultations.

Using the career orientation profile, you can gain a more precise understanding of the work environment in which you will achieve the greatest success (whether dealing with people, research, creative projects, or organisation), and how this connects to your chosen degree programme..

Seize the opportunity and consciously build your career right from the first semester!
