Thanks to their complex structure and interaction patterns, highly specific and sensitive detection molecules and enzymes can be developed from proteins that are important for medical diagnostics. these proteins, created using genetic engineering tools, are produced in bacteria and then isolated from them. In this laboratory exercise, protein production is monitored using gel electrophoresis, thus providing an opportunity to gain practical experience in some new areas of the biology matriculation exam.
