The programme is aimed at training competent professionals with a deep understanding of (eco-) tourism. By the end of your studies, you will be able to navigate the workings of circular economies as well as the sector’s profit- and non-profit-oriented actors, and apply systems thinking and circular-economy strategies to cater for local needs as described by destination marketing.

Program content

1st semester: Mathematical foundations of Economics; Business law; Macroeconomics; Business communication; Introduction to the EU studies; Psychology; The social relations of business; Learning, self-knowledge and socialization training

2nd semester: Basics of accounting; Microeconomics; Fundamentals of natural sciences; Basics of circular economy; Introduction to sustainable tourism – nature-based tourist attractions; Eco- and adventure tourism

3rd semester: Management; Statistics; Issues of tourism security; Sustainability in marketing; Economics of sustainability; The guidelines of sustainable tourism

4th semester: Organizational sustainability of tourism enterprises; Sustainable transport in tourism; Sustainable communities, change of approach; Marketing of sustainable products and services; Sustainable events; ICT in tourism (smart solutions); Digital tourism

5th semester: Problem-solving practice I.; Human resource development in the circular business operations; Renewable energy sources in tourism; Regional analysis; Introduction to the systems thinking

6th semester: Problem-solving practice II.; National parks and nature protected areas in tourism; Design thinking; Product development and innovation in tourism; Circular urban development solutions; Project management of sustainable tourism

7th semester: Internship I.

8th semester: Internship II.; Thesis work
